Founded in 2006, Lattice is an innovative company that develops practical solutions for people to communicate where they do not share a common first language. The company employs people with a diverse range of skills including Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Psychology, International Marketing, Business Management and Finance.

The company’s enduring vision is to create pragmatic solutions that enable multilingual communication and best practice, between client organisations and their customers. Furthermore, considering the economic, social and technological complexities of this multilingual challenge, and building on this pragmatic foundation, the company continually embraces new ideas and technologies as they become fit for purpose.

Lattice is owned and managed by its cofounders Neil McCutcheon, Brian Stafford and Bob Carnell, who between them, have over 75 years of experience in the global management of technology innovation, and who are each fully engaged in the daily management of the business.

Neil McCutcheon

Neil McCutcheon is the founder and managing director of Lattice Voice Technologies. Over two decades he has enjoyed substantial quantifiable success in his career to date, with international experience in Technology, Sales Management and Product Management.

Prior to founding Lattice, Neil was employed by APD Communications as the Product Manager for “CORTEX™”, the company’s communication solution used by nearly half of the UK police forces in their control rooms. During the two years that Neil was with APD, he helped develop the strategy for APD’s expansion into international markets, created the company’s first solution roadmap and worked closely with Police Forces to develop the CORTEX™ product in line with the customer’s requirements. This led to the development of strong relationships within the UK Police Forces and insight into market needs for further innovation. Prior to APD, Neil was a co-founder of a number of technology companies that successfully designed innovative products and worked with leading established partners such as BT in the UK, building new high-growth ventures with profitable revenues.

Brian Stafford

Brian Stafford is a co-founder and the technology director at Lattice. He worked with Neil McCutcheon and Bob Carnell at OfficeLogic for seven years where he co-authored BT Expert Internet and was responsible for several other key communications projects.

Brian has over 20 years experience in technology development, and he enjoys an international reputation as a developer of efficient and robust technology, specialising in embedded systems requiring high reliability. He has contributed to a number of Internet RFCs and is credited in RFC 2532.

Brian’s development experience includes communication servers for voice and data, real-time systems and a host of Internet utilities.

Away from the office, he is also a double world champion on the Uilleann Pipes.

Bob Carnell

Bob Carnell is a co-founder and the sales & marketing director at Lattice. He has 30 years of successful international experience in sales, marketing and new business development with leading IT & Services corporations, namely Unisys, ICL and LogicaCMG.

For three years, Bob led the team at ICL that pioneered the development of online facilities at BBC in London. He also pioneered the commercial development of massively parallel processing servers with Meiko, where for seven years he was executive vice president for sales & marketing worldwide. He was based in London, Boston and San Francisco, and managed the international go-to-market alliances with Oracle Corporation and SUN Microsystems. Prior to Meiko he was responsible at Unisys for winning and delivering bespoke business applications into major clients in the sectors of manufacturing, distribution & logistics, financial services, pharmaceuticals, broadcast & online media and telecommunications. He was conferred with the CEO’s worldwide award for distinguished achievement in sales & marketing, for his work in developing innovative consumer-focused systems with some of the corporation’s major clients.
