Police Forces Police services around the world are obligated to work with everyone in their local communities, regardless of race and ethnicity. In the UK, for example, there are 52 major Police Forces, employing altogether about 170,000 officers. Over 70% of the officers are deployed on the street in a wide range of roles. On average, each force has about 3,000 officers and nearly 100 Police stations, and the largest force, the Metropolitan Police, employs over 31,000 officers and over 13,000 staff. Lattice Voice technologies are highly relevant in each of these situations. Lattice Voice technologies are useful in this sector by enabling Police officers to ascertain for example that a non-English speaking telephone caller is reporting a burglary, and by engaging with the caller to collect the information that is required for the Police to respond with the relevant resources. Similarly, a Police officer on the beat can engage with a foreign language speaker who is asking for directions or who has been stopped for a traffic violation. Furthermore, Lattice Voice technologies can assist officers in the Police station to engage with non-English speakers at the front desk, in the custody suite or in the interview room. In these situations, the log of the dialogue can be stored and recalled as required, and is also evidential quality if needed to be used in such a context.
