Policing ethnic communities in the UK
Presentation & demonstration of
“First Contact” at
The Grange Hotel
1 Clifton
York YO30 6AA
Wed. 24th October 2007
13.00 – 16.00
Overview:
In the light of recent public comments regarding the extra resources required to police the growing challenge of ethnic communities in the UK, Lattice Voice are hosting a presentation and demonstration of “First Contact” in York on 24th October.
The suite of “First Contact” applications enables officers to communicate with the public, each in their own first language, with “On the Phone”, “In the Office” and “On the Street”. These applications can be deployed in the Force’s Call Centre, in Police stations at the front desk, interview room & custody suite, and on mobile devices for officers on the beat.
The event will commence with a buffet lunch at 13.00, since some officers will be attending from distant locations, and the presentation and demonstration will conclude about 16.00. The agenda will include:
- The growth of ethnic communities in the UK
- Communicating with non-English speakers in their own language
- “First Contact” and the National Call Handling Standards
- Identifying the language of a non-English speaking caller
- Collecting the right information for mobilisation & resolution
- Designing and deploying the right system for your Force
- Operational benefits and community relations
If communicating with communities who don’t share the same language as yourself is an issue for you, we would be delighted to meet you, to present our thoughts and solutions, and to discuss your particular challenges. Please register by completing the registration form [click here].
